President Marcos challenged resigned party-list congressman Zaldy Co to return to the Philippines and face charges, saying Co’s online accusations about flood control project funds mean nothing unless proven in person.
Co has repeatedly denied receiving any kickbacks related to the alleged P253 billion budget insertions, claiming he only facilitated the passage of funds.
Marcos emphasized he is not hiding and is ready to respond to Co’s allegations under proper judicial processes.
Palace officials dismissed Co’s statements as “hearsay” with loopholes, urging him to make accusations under oath.
Meanwhile, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s camp noted that the ICI referral did not determine guilt, expressing confidence in the ombudsman’s impartial review.
