President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged politicians to set aside personal and partisan differences to focus on improving the lives of Filipinos, as his Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) formalized an alliance with the Nacionalista Party (NP) on Thursday.
At the signing ceremony, Marcos celebrated the formation of what he called the largest political bloc in the Philippines and emphasized the importance of unity for the 2025 midterm elections.
NP President Manny Villar agreed, highlighting the need for political parties to find common ground despite their differences.
This alliance with NP is the fourth such agreement the PFP has made this year, following similar pacts with the Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats, Nationalist People’s Coalition, and National Unity Party.
The move is part of Marcos’ strategy to consolidate support ahead of the upcoming elections.
