Sen. Rodante Marcoleta is facing a 90-day preventive suspension in connection with the plunder case filed against him before the Sandiganbayan.
The case stems from an alleged ₱75-million campaign donation he received while serving as a party-list representative, involving three co-accused, including former lawmaker Mike Defensor.
Prosecutors allege that the money was not properly reflected in the senator’s financial and campaign disclosures.
Marcoleta has challenged the case and maintained his legal defenses as the proceedings continue.
The suspension is part of the court process and does not constitute a final determination of his guilt.
