hilippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil reiterated a “zero-tolerance” policy on misconduct and abuse within the police force, emphasizing that erring officers will face strict disciplinary measures.
Marbil highlighted plans to strengthen the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to ensure swift and appropriate actions against misbehaving cops, with 572 personnel recommended for dismissal.
The PNP is also investing in AI-powered body cameras to enhance transparency and accountability.
Marbil ordered increased police visibility, quicker response times, and closer collaboration with the Justice Department to ensure fair prosecution.
He stressed the need for swift investigations, setting new timelines of 5-10 days for minor cases and two months for serious offenses.
