A fire broke out at San Jose Elementary School in Makati on Saturday afternoon, escalating to a second alarm within 20 minutes after it was reported at 4:35 p.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Makati successfully extinguished the blaze by 5:38 p.m.
According to school principal Lev Dacanay, the fire damaged five classrooms on the second floor and one on the third floor, while fortunately, no one was inside except for a security guard on the ground floor.
Although classes are scheduled to begin on July 27, a planned learning camp has been postponed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the BFP.
