The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has cleared its long-standing license plate backlog by producing over 18.5 million motorcycle and vehicle plates, addressing issues that had persisted since 2014.
As of June’s end, the LTO manufactured 11.8 million motorcycle plates and 6.7 million vehicle plates, fulfilling both current demands and delayed orders.
LTO officer-in-charge Greg Pua praised the agency’s plate-making team for exceeding expectations.
Distribution efforts are now underway, with over seven million plates already released and the rest targeted for delivery—especially the remaining 5.4 million motorcycle plates—by October.
To aid transparency, the LTO launched a digital license plate tracker via the eGovPH app, allowing owners to check status and choose pickup or courier delivery.
