The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended the license of a Porsche driver for 90 days after a video showed him using a mobile phone while driving on a highway.
LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II said the driver seemed to be creating social media content during the incident, which violates road safety laws.
The driver faces allegations of reckless driving, violating the Anti-Distracted Driving Act, and being an improper person to operate a vehicle, with the last offense potentially leading to license revocation.
Both the driver and the vehicle’s registered owner have been summoned to the LTO Central Office to explain their actions.
Meanwhile, the Porsche has been placed under alarm by the agency as part of the ongoing investigation.
