Starting April 2, 2025, commuters on LRT1 will face higher fares as the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has approved a fare increase. The new fare matrix, announced by Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), will raise the boarding fee from P13.29 to P16.25. Additionally, the fare per kilometer will rise from P1.21 to P1.47. This adjustment follows the DOTr’s approval of a revised fare formula, which will be implemented in the coming months. The increase is part of efforts to ensure the sustainability of the LRT1 system.
