Senator Loren Legarda has urged stricter enforcement of the Clean Air Act following reports of unhealthy air quality in Metro Manila.
She emphasized the urgent need to address pollution sources such as vehicle emissions, industrial activities, and open burning, which contribute to the worsening air quality.
Legarda called for a coordinated effort between local governments, the private sector, and communities to implement sustainable solutions and reduce pollution.
The senator also reiterated the importance of transitioning to cleaner energy sources and improving urban planning to ensure healthier air for all Filipinos.
The appeal comes as air pollution continues to pose significant health risks to Metro Manila residents.
