KOREAN TROOPS AND TEACHERS BEGIN HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN LEGAZPI

The Republic of Korea ship Il Chul Bong (LST-688) arrived at Tabaco Port in Albay on Thursday for a two-week humanitarian mission in Legazpi City. 

The ship, part of Pacific Partnership 2024, will engage in construction and medical training activities to assist local residents. 

The mission includes 202 personnel from the Korean Navy, Army, and Seoul National University. 

Commander Park Jeong Won expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized the goal of strengthening the Philippines-Korea alliance. 

The mission, which will run until August 14, follows the arrival of the US naval ship City of Bismarck for similar efforts.
