The National Housing Authority (NHA) announced that housing loan borrowers can pay their obligations without interest, even if payments are late, as part of a relief measure for those affected by recent disasters.
Assistant General Manager Alvin Feliciano revealed a one-month moratorium on payments from July 1 to July 31, 2024, and a six-month suspension of delinquency charges and interest until December 31, 2024.
This relief applies to borrowers in the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon, the areas hardest hit by the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Carina.
Regular payments will resume on August 1, 2024, and penalties will return on January 1, 2025.
The measures aim to ease the financial burden on affected families.
