A House quad committee urged the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) to file civil forfeiture cases against Chinese nationals accused of illegally acquiring land in the Philippines using fraudulent citizenship documents.
The committee handed over documents showing land acquisitions by Chinese nationals, particularly in Pampanga, violating the Constitution’s land ownership laws.
It also warned of national security risks tied to these illegal actions, which were uncovered during investigations into Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogos), land grabbing, and other crimes.
The OSG committed to reviewing the documents and taking legal action if the lands are still under foreign ownership.
The committee highlighted key figures, including Aedy Tai Yang and Willie Ong, involved in suspicious land deals and corporate links to illegal activities.
