GROCERY CHAIN DALI TOLD TO REMOVE IMITATION GOODS

The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPhl) has instructed DALI Everyday Grocer to remove three products from its shelves following a complaint from Nutri-Asia Inc.

The complaint alleged trademark infringement and unfair competition due to similarities between DALI’s products and Nutri-Asia’s established brands like UFC Banana Ketchup, Datu Puti Vinegar, and Datu Puti Soy Sauce.

Nutri-Asia’s legal representatives, Cruz Marcelo, and Tenefrancia law firm, filed the complaint, resulting in IPOPhl’s issuance of a preliminary injunction against DALI.

IPOPhl’s Director General Rowel Barba confirmed the issuance of the injunction and stated that hearings on the case would proceed to determine further actions.
