President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of government and private sector collaboration in tackling unemployment during the Jobstreet Career Con 2025 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
He praised the SM Group, particularly Teresita Sy-Coson, for helping generate employment opportunities and for hosting successful job fairs.
Marcos expressed confidence that many of the 18,000 job seekers at the event would find employment, citing past successful partnerships with SM in job fairs and upskilling programs.
The Philippine Statistics Authority reported a decrease in unemployment from 3.9% in October to 3.2% in November 2024, reflecting the positive impact of such initiatives.
The two-day event featured over 130 companies and government services, aiming to connect job seekers with employers and provide essential employment documents.
