The partnership between the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group and GCash has been strengthened with the appointment of GCash Chief Information Security Officer Miguel Geronilla to the agency’s advisory group during its 13th anniversary celebration in Quezon City.
The advisory group provides strategic and technical guidance to help law enforcement address increasingly complex cyber threats, including scams and online fraud affecting digital financial users.
Officials said the collaboration reflects the growing need for public-private cooperation to enhance cybersecurity and protect millions of Filipinos using online platforms.
The PNP-ACG reported thousands of cybercrime operations in 2025, highlighting the scale of the challenge and the importance of coordinated responses.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fraud prevention, public education, and stronger safeguards across the country’s digital ecosystem.
