Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian affirmed on Monday that all DSWD field offices are fully operational and actively processing social welfare requests, dispelling earlier rumors of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) being suspended in Davao Region.
Following a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed with the Social Security System (SSS), Gatchalian assured the public of the Davao Field Office’s continuous service to constituents, particularly in providing medical, burial assistance, and other essential support services.
The DSWD Field Office-11 issued an advisory confirming sufficient funds for AICS implementation, emphasizing readiness to assist all residents of Davao.
In the first half of 2024 alone, the DSWD office in Davao Region has already aided 273,305 clients with over PHP 1.5 billion disbursed, underscoring the agency’s commitment to its protective services program for crisis-affected individuals and families.
