PAGASA warned that the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will continue bringing rains across Luzon and parts of the Visayas through Thursday, August 20.
Several provinces, including Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas and Occidental Mindoro, may receive 100 to 200 millimeters of heavy to intense rainfall.
Metro Manila and other areas are forecast to experience 50 to 100 millimeters of moderate to heavy rain, increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas already saturated by recent rains.
PAGASA also advised residents in mountainous and elevated areas to remain alert as rainfall could be significantly higher in these locations.
Meanwhile, two low-pressure areas are being monitored, with one east of Northern Luzon having a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within 24 hours.
