The Philippine Coast Guard and local volunteers recovered the decomposing bodies of two fishermen off Apo Island, Negros Oriental, believed to have died from compressor diving.
Joel Tapsilani and Bobong Daomani were found underwater near Cogon Point by local divers on Thursday afternoon.
The two were part of a six-man group from Bohol who arrived on May 20 to fish using illegal compressor diving.
Reports indicate that four companions cut off their air hoses underwater after mistaking an approaching boat for law enforcement and then fled the scene.
The bodies have been turned over to the Dauin police and are awaiting identification by relatives.
