First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos met with Indian doctors and business leaders to advance her advocacy of improving pediatric healthcare in the Philippines, particularly for Filipino children in need of liver transplants.
This initiative was inspired by the struggles of families traveling abroad, especially to India, to access affordable and advanced medical treatments for their children.
In her Instagram post, she emphasized her goals of saving lives, making medicines more affordable, and enhancing local medical services.
The meeting followed her visit to pediatric liver transplant patients at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, where she met families seeking life-saving treatments abroad.
Marcos assured the families that they would receive support, and expressed admiration for the bravery of the patients and their parents, calling them “some of our bravest little warriors.”
