Former Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan insisted he is not involved in alleged anomalous flood control projects, saying his resignation was meant to uphold transparency.
Speaking at a House inquiry, Bonoan denied claims he cited figures on ghost projects, clarifying that investigations are still ongoing in Bulacan.
He said more irregularities may surface following President Marcos’ inspection of questionable projects, but stressed he can no longer identify those involved since he has left the DPWH.
Reports indicate 15 contractors cornered 20 percent of the P545-billion flood control budget in the past three years.
Bonoan, who served 44 years in DPWH, including two stints as secretary, said he has no regrets and is proud of his work.
