DTI PARTNERS WITH CONVERGE TO BOOST MSMES IN REMOTE REGIONS

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Makati City on Tuesday to advance digitalization for small businesses in remote areas.

DTI Acting Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque presented a list of priority areas, including locations with Negosyo Centers and other remote regions, for fiber broadband and technology services.

Roque emphasized that digitalization is central to the DTI’s agenda for developing micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), aiming to equip them with the tools needed to compete locally and globally.

Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy echoed the commitment to inclusivity, highlighting the goal of enhancing MSME competitiveness and reaching both national and global markets.

This partnership aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to improve connectivity in isolated and remote islands across the Philippines.
