DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon and DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez, along with their agency executives, conducted a walking inspection of sidewalks along Edsa from Ayala Avenue to Roxas Boulevard to assess pedestrian conditions. They were joined by the Move as One Coalition, including representatives in wheelchairs, to highlight accessibility issues faced by commuters and people with disabilities. Observations revealed high and steep walkways, missing transition ramps, and sidewalks blocked by posts, making travel difficult and unsafe. Many wheelchair users had no choice but to use bike lanes or the road, underscoring the urgent need for inclusive infrastructure. The inspection aims to inform improvements and ensure safer, more accessible sidewalks along the major thoroughfare.
