Puerto Galera was awarded by the Department of Tourism as the Philippines’ top diving destination for 2025-2027 during the Philippine Tourism Excellence Awards.
Vice Mayor Rocky D. Ilagan received the award at a ceremony held in Pasay City.
The recognition allows Puerto Galera to participate for free in international dive destination shows, boosting its global profile.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco praised Puerto Galera and other finalists for attracting international diving enthusiasts and showcasing rich marine biodiversity.
Known as the diving capital of the Philippines, Puerto Galera is celebrated for its world-class dive sites, vibrant marine life, white sand beaches, and lively atmosphere.
