DOH SAYS ANTIPOLO SUPER HEALTH CENTER OPENED HASTILY AFTER MONTHS IDLE

Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said the Tanza II Super Health Center in Antipolo was “hastily opened” after being idle for months due to delays in staffing and equipment procurement.

During his inspection, Herbosa noted that while the facility was completed in 2024 and turned over to the city government, it only became partially operational this week.

The ₱19.5-million project, which included additional funding for medical equipment and expanded services, was one of several super health centers affected by implementation setbacks.

Antipolo officials, however, denied the claim, saying the October 16 opening had been scheduled since September and delayed only by staffing shortages.

Herbosa’s visit came a day after he revealed that nearly 300 super health centers nationwide remain nonoperational or “ghost” facilities.
