The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) have signed a joint agreement granting real property tax (RPT) exemptions to qualified agricultural storage facilities under the Sagip Saka Act.
The policy covers buildings, warehouses, and structures used exclusively for storing agricultural inputs and outputs, provided their assessed value does not exceed P3 million.
Officials said the measure aims to reduce production costs and improve the incomes of farmers and fisherfolk by easing their financial burden.
The DILG directed local government units to promptly implement the guidelines and ensure proper dissemination and enforcement of the tax exemptions.
Government officials and lawmakers said the initiative will strengthen the agriculture sector by improving efficiency, competitiveness, and support for rural communities.
