Several officials of the Department of Education (DepEd) have reportedly resigned as the agency prepares for a leadership transition, incoming Secretary Sen. Sonny Angara revealed.
The exact number and positions of the resigning officials remain unclear, though Angara acknowledged being informed about these developments.
He stated in a dzBB radio interview that he was awaiting official documentation before commenting further.
Questions from reporters directed to DepEd for clarification on the resignations have yet to receive a response.
The resignations occurred shortly before Vice President Sara Duterte’s scheduled turnover of the education portfolio to Angara, with a ceremony planned for Thursday at the DepEd Central Office.
