At least 19 people have been confirmed dead after a magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck Cebu late Tuesday night, with Bogo City, the quake’s epicenter, recording the highest number of fatalities.

According to the Cebu Provincial Information Office, nine adults and four minors died in Bogo after their homes collapsed.

In San Remigio, five others perished, including three Philippine Coast Guard personnel and one Bureau of Fire Protection member who were trapped inside a gym.
