The Davao City Council has decided not to declare comedian Vice Ganda persona non grata despite his recent skit mocking former president Rodrigo Duterte.
Acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II called the backlash “baseless” and said the council has more important matters to focus on.
The fake resolution targeting Vice Ganda circulated online after the skit, which angered some Duterte supporters.
Acting Mayor Sebastian Duterte also denied the resolution’s authenticity and emphasized the council’s priority on improving the lives of Davao residents.
He urged Vice Ganda to show respect and hard work rather than relying on jokes that insult and distract.
