COMELEC DENIES CLAIMS OF MANUAL VOTE COUNTING PUSH

The Commission on Elections denied social media posts claiming that Chairman George Garcia is advocating for manual vote counting in the 2028 general elections.

The posts by “Makhina Moto Vlog” and “Meljam DL” were labeled false, with the poll body emphasizing that Garcia never made such proposals.

COMELEC reaffirmed its commitment to follow existing election laws and implement them in the upcoming polls.

The agency urged the public to verify information before sharing online, warning that spreading false election claims is punishable under the Omnibus Election Code.

COMELEC’s statement seeks to prevent misinformation and ensure public trust in the electoral process.
