Former Kabataan party-list representative Sarah Elago will return to the House of Representatives as the first nominee of Gabriela Women’s Party (GWP).
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) confirmed Elago’s proclamation for the 64th party-list seat, which aligns with the 20 percent constitutional requirement for party-list representation.
Gabriela, known for advocating for the rights of women and marginalized groups, welcomed the decision as a victory for Filipino women.
Comelec plans to hold Elago’s official proclamation on Wednesday.
Additionally, the Comelec aims to register three million overseas Filipino voters for the 2028 elections, with registration set to begin in December 2025.
