COCONUT EXPORTS SOAR, EARNING $868M IN 76% SURGE

The Philippines’ coconut-based product exports surged 76 percent to $868 million in the first quarter of 2025, driven by high coconut oil prices amid strong global demand and tighter supply, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Coconut oil accounted for 85 percent of the total export value in the category, jumping 85.5 percent to $740.19 million.

The average price of coconut oil rose 74 percent to $2,082 per metric ton, as it competes globally with palm, soybean, and sunflower oils.

Desiccated coconut exports also grew by 54 percent, while other products like copra meal declined nearly 30 percent.

Meanwhile, fruit and vegetable exports increased by 7.2 percent to $624.91 million, led by bananas and processed pineapple products.
