Authorities are investigating another online school shooting threat that targeted Nemesio-Epifania Taneo Memorial High School on Olango Island in Lapu-Lapu City, prompting heightened security but no suspension of classes.
The Lapu-Lapu City Police Office said it is coordinating with the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Unit and other agencies to identify the person behind the now-deleted social media post while urging the public not to spread unverified information.
Police and barangay personnel have been deployed around the campus as investigations continue, with officials warning that making threats or spreading false information may lead to criminal charges.
The incident follows similar online threats that recently disrupted schools in Talisay City and Cebu City, as well as a bomb threat at a local shopping mall.
The latest case marks the fifth public safety-related security scare reported in Cebu within just a few days, raising concerns among students, parents, and educators.
