A House lawmaker has urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to avoid interfering in the impeachment process against Vice President Sara Duterte, emphasizing the government’s duty to pursue accountability.
House Deputy Minority Leader Rep. France Castro called on Congress to process the case swiftly, citing public demand for transparency and justice.
She explained that if 103 endorsements are secured next week, the case could be passed to the Senate for further action.
Former Rep. Antonio Tinio echoed this sentiment, warning that technicalities should not obstruct the pursuit of justice.
Castro and Tinio both stressed the importance of upholding good governance and ensuring that public officials are held accountable.
