The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) thwarted an attempt to de-register three helicopters linked to former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co, which officials said was a move to sell them to foreign buyers.
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said all of Co’s air assets, valued at P4.7 billion and registered under his companies, remain blocked from de-registration due to their connection with the flood control scandal.
Dizon also sought asset listings from other agencies to track properties, vehicles, and vessels of DPWH employees and contractors implicated in the graft case.
Meanwhile, five new undersecretaries were sworn in at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to strengthen its reform efforts.
The DPWH also launched “Integrity Chain,” a blockchain-based platform with support from the private sector to ensure transparency and accountability in major infrastructure projects.
