Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, has been given the go-ahead to rejoin his University of Southern California (USC) basketball team following a cardiac arrest he experienced during practice four months ago.
In a statement released by the James Family, a spokesperson confirmed that Bronny James has been cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball. He is scheduled for a final evaluation with USC staff this week, with plans to resume practice next week and return to games shortly after.
The James family expressed their gratitude to the medical team, the USC community, and their countless friends, family, and fans for their unwavering support during this challenging time.
Bronny James, who is 19 years old, suffered a cardiac arrest on July 24 while training with the team. He was hospitalized and placed in intensive care but was discharged three days later. Subsequent evaluations revealed that a congenital heart defect was the likely cause of the cardiac arrest.
