BONG GO DENIES LINKS TO FLOOD CONTROL SCAM CONTRACTORS

Senator Bong Go denied allegations that contractor couple Curlee and Sarah Discaya were protecting him amid the ongoing probe into alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla earlier claimed the Discayas were shielding Go due to shared business interests.

Still, the senator called the accusation “unfair” and insisted he had no involvement in his family’s construction firm, CLTG Builders.

The Discayas have since withdrawn their cooperation with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) after being denied witness status, prompting investigators to examine the links between their companies and CLTG Builders more closely.

Go maintained that CLTG ended its joint venture with the Discayas in 2019 and ceased operations in 2022, asserting he never used his position to benefit family businesses.

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon and ICI officials vowed that the probe will spare no one, while Vice President Sara Duterte said she expects attempts to link her to the scandal due to her ties with Go and former president Rodrigo Duterte.
