Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte officially began her third and final term on Monday, taking her oath before Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo alongside other newly elected city officials.
Representatives Arjo Atayde, Franz Pumaren, Jesus Suntay, Patrick Vargas, and Maria Pilar, as well as Vice Mayor Gian Sotto and city councilors, also took their oaths, although 2nd District Rep. Ralph Tulfo was absent.
In her speech, Belmonte committed to continuing her administration’s focus on good governance, innovation, and inclusive services.
She highlighted upcoming priorities such as housing, education scholarships, improved social programs, drainage systems, and the expansion of the city’s electric bus service.
Belmonte also emphasized the city’s efforts in challenging outdated bureaucratic practices to deliver more efficient public services.
