The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has designated 111 common poster areas across Bacolod City’s 61 barangays for legal campaign materials during the upcoming May 12 midterm elections.
These areas include barangay halls, parks, plazas, basketball courts, and other public spaces, with campaign posting allowed from March 28 to May 10 for local candidates and February 11 to May 10 for senators and party-list groups.
Comelec is also conducting roadshows until January 31 to familiarize voters with the automated counting machines in Negros Occidental.
These roadshows are being held in barangay halls, schools, and covered courts, with Bacolod hosting sessions in colleges and universities until January 24.
The initiatives aim to ensure compliance with election rules and voter readiness for the polls.
