BACOLOD CITY SET TO HOST INAUGURAL TERRA MADRE ASIA-PACIFIC EVENT

Bacolod City is set to host the first-ever Terra Madre Asia-Pacific event in November 2025, positioning itself as a global food hub for the slow food movement.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez signed an agreement with Slow Food International during the Terra Madre Salone del Gusto in Turin, Italy.

The event will promote sustainable gastronomy and traditional food practices, with Bacolod and Negros Occidental showcasing local delicacies like chicken inasal and heirloom rice.

The agreement also includes developing Slow Food programs in Negros, establishing a local office, and promoting food education.
