Six Philippine universities made it to the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings this year, with Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and the University of the Philippines (UP) leading the country.
Both universities are placed in the 501-600 bracket, with UP maintaining its position from last year, while ADMU saw a decline from its 2023 ranking in the 401-500 bracket.
This year marks the first time since 2022 that UP is ranked as the top university in the Philippines.
Other Philippine universities, including De La Salle University, Mapua University, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, and the University of Santo Tomas, ranked in the 601+ bracket, with MSU-Iligan making its debut in the rankings.
The ranking is based on factors such as teaching, research, international outlook, and industry income, with UP excelling in research environment and industry, while ADMU performed better in teaching and research quality.
