Former couple and Filipino superstars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla made a surprise joint appearance at the Asia Artist Awards 2023 (AAA), adding a touch of heartwarming drama to the star-studded event.
The exes, who announced their breakup in November, walked hand-in-hand on stage to accept their individual AAA Fabulous Awards. This special recognition, also bestowed upon NewJeans, Stray Kids, and Lim Young-woong, is a testament to their enduring popularity and contributions to the entertainment industry.
Daniel kept his speech short and sweet, simply expressing gratitude to his fans and flashing a peace sign. Kathryn, visibly blushing and touched by the thunderous cheers from the audience, took the opportunity to introduce herself as a “Filipina actress” and express her heartfelt thanks to those who support Philippine television series.
This marked the second public sighting of the former couple since their breakup announcement. Their earlier appearance at the ABS-CBN Christmas special had already sparked much speculation, and their joint award acceptance at AAA further fueled the fire of fan hope.
The night wasn’t just about reunions, though. Several other Filipino acts shone brightly at the prestigious awards ceremony.
