ANTIPOLO EMBRACES THE FIRST CABLE CAR SYSTEM WITH ENTHUSIASM

Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares III expressed enthusiasm over the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) plan to establish the Philippines’ first cable car system in the pilgrimage site and capital of Rizal province.

The project aims to connect the MRT-4 Taytay Station to Antipolo City, potentially operational by 2028, according to Undersecretary Timothy John Batan.

Ynares praised the feasibility of the Antipolo Cable Car Project, which recently received support from the Asian Development Bank for its pre-feasibility study.

He anticipates a detailed feasibility study next year and expects construction bidding to start by 2026, with completion slated for 2028, barring unforeseen delays.
