As of Friday, the Philippines ranked 26th on the 2024 Paris Olympics medal chart with two gold and two bronze medals, trailing closely behind Indonesia.
Carlos Yulo’s double gold in artistic gymnastics initially boosted the Philippines to 21st, but subsequent golds by Cuba, Spain, Azerbaijan, and Iran in various events pushed the country back to 26th.
Despite this, the Philippines remains the leading Southeast Asian country in the standings, with Indonesia now in 25th place.
The Philippines still has medal opportunities with golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina, and weightlifter Vanessa Sarno set to compete.
The United States leads the medal tally with 30 golds, followed by China with 29.
