The Philippine Navy’s BRP Nestor Acero (PG-901), a key surface combatant, recently underwent a significant upgrade to its “battle net” (BNET) system by Israeli defense manufacturer Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
This enhancement was confirmed successfully after a comprehensive sea trial conducted near Manila Bay and Cavite City on July 4.
The upgraded BNET system demonstrated improved connectivity for voice, chat, and video relay, exceeding baseline specifications and enhancing operational capabilities for the Acero-class patrol gunboats.
With six gunboats in service and more under construction, the Navy continues to strengthen its fleet for modern naval operations.
