Nearly seven in 10 Filipinos believe vote-buying will be widespread in the May 2025 midterm elections, according to an OCTA Research survey.
Conducted from February 22 to 28, the survey found that 66% of registered voters expect vote-buying to be rampant, with higher concern in regions like Cagayan Valley, Soccsksargen, and Northern Mindanao.
Younger voters aged 18 to 34 and urban residents were more likely to believe in the prevalence of vote-buying.
Additionally, 68% of respondents said vote-buying would negatively impact election results, with stronger concerns in Mindanao and Luzon compared to the Visayas.
The survey, which had 1,200 respondents, highlights growing public concern over electoral integrity.
