Vice President Sara Duterte revealed she is “seriously considering” a 2028 presidential run, citing frustration over the country’s “continued backsliding.”
Speaking to OFWs in Tokyo during a private trip, Duterte emphasized her belief in the Philippines’ potential for greatness and the need for firm reforms.
She acknowledged the challenges of implementing tough government policies but stressed that unity and resilience among Filipinos can drive progress.
Meanwhile, Duterte expressed gratitude to the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) for its peace rally, supporting calls against her impeachment and showcasing national solidarity.
The Vice President also addressed allegations of misuse of confidential funds and impeachment complaints, expressing confidence in presenting a strong case if proceedings push through.
