The Quezon City government has shut down two lodging establishments—Blazingwood Apartelle and MC Hotel—for violations tied to child trafficking and exploitation.
Authorities rescued over two dozen minors and arrested two suspects during raids, with many of the children reportedly involved in sex work or exposed to vices such as alcohol.
Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized the city’s zero-tolerance stance, invoking the local Revenue Code, which allows closure of businesses used for criminal activity.
The minors are now in the care of social services while officials coordinate with their families.
The city is stepping up surveillance of motels and hotels, enforcing strict rules under its 2024 tourism child protection policy to prevent further abuse.
