The Department of Agriculture announced the lifting of its temporary ban on domestic and wild pigs, as well as pork products from the Czech Republic.
The ban, originally imposed in 2022 due to an African swine fever (ASF) outbreak, was removed following confirmation from Czech veterinary authorities to the World Organization for Animal Health that the cases have been resolved.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. signed Department Circular 07, series of 2026, authorizing the resumption of imports.
The DA said the risk of contamination from pigs, pork meat, pig skin, and semen from the Czech Republic is now negligible.
The order takes effect 15 days after publication on the DA website and filing with the Office of the National Administrative Register.
