The Philippine men’s football team has enlisted the talents of brothers Matthew and Michael Baldisimo for their upcoming World Cup/Asian Cup Qualifiers against Iraq.
Coach Mark Saintfiet has named 28 players for the crucial matches scheduled for March 21 in Basra and March 26 at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Matthew, currently playing for San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer, and Michael, representing York United in the Canadian Premier League, joined the squad after previous call-ups for the ASEAN Football Federation Cup in 2021.
Additionally, Saintfiet has introduced newcomers JB Borlongan and Theo Libarnes to the senior team. Notable players including Neil Etheridge, Amani Aguinaldo, and Patrick Reichelt are also set to represent the team, formerly known as the Azkals, in the upcoming fixtures.
