Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is recalling over 28,000 Raize vehicles due to faulty engine ECU (electronic control unit) reprogramming.
The recall affects 28,828 Raize units manufactured between December 1, 2021, and July 15, 2024.
The issue involves improper programming of the engine ECU, which could result in difficulty pressing the brake pedal under certain driving conditions, particularly in high-altitude areas.
As a result, the vehicle’s stopping time may be increased, posing safety risks.
TMP will provide the necessary reprogramming service at no cost, and affected customers will be notified via letters and invited to authorized dealers for repairs.
